This program is hybrid. Your registration is good for EITHER in-person or online: you will receive an email with the Zoom link 1 hour before the program begins.
Learn about historical and present-day uses of plants in medicine, with a focus on physicians and healers in 18th century America, the period in which Benjamin Rush proposed to create a garden for medicinal plants at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. Through three case studies, students will learn how Euro-American, Indigenous, and African American healers used plants to treat different diseases and ailments.
